Budget Information

The PSD budget process for the 2012-13 school year is complete (see below). Currently the budget for the 2013-14 school year is being developed.
 

2013-14 Budget Process

The PSD Board of Education has identified the following budget priorities (ranked in order of importance) for the 2013-14 school year:

1. Support for specials (Art, Music, PE, and Health)
2. Unified Improvement Plan (Strategy 3)
3. Accelerate development of metrics DE 1.1
4. Increase support for mental health
5. Educator effectiveness (SB 191)
6. High risk schools

The budget development process for 2013-14 budget includes gathering input from various stakeholder groups including the District Accountability Committee, District Advisory Board, a Budget Advisory Committee and a District Tactical Leadership Team.

Budget Advisory Committee Meetings (all meetings in Conference Room ITC-A at the JSSC, 2407 Laporte Avenue):

  • April 25, 6-8 p.m.
  • May 8, 6-8 p.m.
  • May 22, 6-8 p.m.

The district will make budget recommendations to the board in May. The board will adopt a final budget in June.


2012-13 Budget

The 2012-2013 proposed budget with an accompanying PowerPoint were presented to the Board of Education at a worksession May 22, 2012, and was approved in June 2012. The board identified the following budget priorities around the district ends for the 2012-13 school year:

1.   Provide additional resources to “high risk” schools.
2.   Continue improvements monitored in DE 1.0.
3.   Increase coordinator positions to support curriculum/common assessment work associated with SB 191.
3.   District common assessments (expedite for non-TCAP areas to assist with SB 191 work).
4.   Support student health and wellness, including mental health staffing and training for staff.
5.   Provide professional development/coaching and staffing to implement SB 191.
5.   Differential teacher pay in “high-risk” schools.
